The London Colney Colts U11s Ambers got their league season off to a winning start with an impressive 5-1 victory over Northfield Red.
The boys defied the driving rain to turn in a skilful and gutsy performance, with an own-goal being added to by two goals from Sam Youngs and single strikes from Barnaby Mayles and Connor O'Connor.
The U8s put in a battling performance to earn a thrilling 5-5 draw with Chorleywood.
The Colts were 3-0 and 5-2 down, but refused to give in, and came back to share the honours and fill their manager with pride. Two goals came from the boot of Ben Reed, with Jamie Madden scoring one and two own-goals.
