A series of fun events aimed at encouraging more people to take part in community activities will take place in Borehamwood in the next few days.
The Barnardo's charity shop, in Shenley Road, will hold a fancy dress day on Tuesday, when information on volunteering will be available to visitors.
Hertsmere Community Voluntary Support will host a decorating event at a new community room at St Michael's Church Hall, in Brook Road, on Saturday.
Staff at the Help the Aged charity shop, in Shenley Road, will also offer advice on volunteering opportunities from today until Thursday.
The events are all being held as part of Make A Difference Day, a British and American campaign designed to recruit more community volunteers.
The campaign, which is being sponsored by the American owner of the Borehamwood & Elstree Times, Gannett, was first launched in the United States in 1992.
