Borehamwood Youth U16s 4On a treacherous Sunday morning with non-stop rain, Wood Youth totally outplayed Whetstone.
Whetstone opened the scoring against the run of play after 25 minutes, before Wood keeper Benson got his first touch.
Wood struck back almost immediately, with a goal from Stuart Blackburne, making it 1-1 at the break.
After the break Wood brought on Joe Hazell to replace Dean Skipsey, along with Gary Lewis and Darren Marjoram.
Wood then tore into the Whetstone side. James Nicholl scored and hit the bar. Grant Hudson also hit the bar, Joe Hazell scored from a free kick and Karl Stephens finally slotted home, making it a comfortable win for Wood.
Gavin Packer also had a notable game, holding the Whetstone attack at bay. This win puts Wood into the last 16 of the League Cup.
