Borehamwood firefighters spent more than an hour last week helping to rescue a horse trapped in its horse-box.
Firefighters believe the horse became stuck, in its box in Shenley's Green Street, at 10.30am last Wednesday, when it tried to move from one section of the box to another, panicked and, in its distressed state, put its foot through the floor.
With the help of air-lifting equipment and under the guidance of a vet, firefighters, from Borehamwood, Potters Bar and Hatfield, took 90 minutes to release the horse, while it was under general anaesthetic.
