A Potters Bar woman died after apparently being electrocuted while mowing a neighbours' lawn.
Ann Jones, from Powis Court, often cut the grass for her elderly next-door neighbours, who were on holiday on Friday last week when the accident happened.
Her husband Alan arrived home in the early afternoon to find police cars and an ambulance outside his home. They had been married for 31 years.
"She was helping someone out," he said. "That's typically her. She was like a community group on her own. If anybody needed help, she was there.
"If she was chatting in the street and heard someone needed a hand with something, she'd pop round and see them. She was that sort of person."
"I'm devastated. Absolutely devastated. Every time I open the door I expect her to be there but she's not."
Mrs Jones, who was in her mid-50s, was found by a neighbour. She was lying motionless on the damp grass next to the lawnmower with burns on her hand.
Parts of the lawnmower, which was several years old, were taken away for examination by police. An inquest is due to be held in the coming weeks.
