SANDRIDGE SPORTS were again struggling for players when they met Watford Labour Club, who made the most of their opponent's shortcomings to romp home 12-0 in round one.
Four goals came in the first half, and, after Sports were reduced to ten men, the Watford club added eight more in the second period.
Chequers let a two-goal lead slip as they went out of the cup 3-2 against Pearce United, while London Colney BCH made their debut in the senior cup with an impressive 5-1 victory over Xcession.
Radlett's county cup match against Sliver Swifts was a slippery affair in more ways than one. They were just seconds from victory, before Swifts equalised, and then hit two more in extra time to claim victory 4-2.
Despite the conditions, both Phoenix and Hatfield Arms produced a high-quality match that Hatfield won 2-0.
For more on these games, see the St Albans Observer on Thursday, October 25.
