It is four weeks since I wrote about Ayot Path, but nothing has been done. It does not exist to the town hall.
In Walshford Way there is lots of rubbish lying along the length of the road, and there is even glass that has been there for three weeks.
If you go up Walshford Way there is a footpath between the houses to Barkston Path. There is a fence on either side of it, and on one side there is a gap in the fence, with a three or four foot drop on the other side.
As this is supposed to be a public footpath there should be a guard rail to stop people falling over the edge. It has been like that for four years, and most likely it is not on the council's maps.
This connecting path has been there since 1955 and there is no street lighting in sight, so at night it is black. Turn left or right and there are two street lights, but hedges hide the light. Barkston Path is like Ayot Path, a rubbish dump which never gets cleaned. There is rubbish that has been dumped there for years, trees, furniture and grass. The lot never gets cleaned up by the council, and it is getting worse all the time.
If you turn left in Thirsk Road to the green, then to the left side of the houses, bushes and trees grow over the path, and there is more rubbish and muck alongside the fences.
Why is this area always left alone? What has happened to the cleaning gangs that were supposed to clean the paths and streets? Is it that the council cannot afford to pay them?
