GARSTON VETERANS' endeavour went unrewarded as they came away empty handed from their trip to Royston Crow on Sunday, October 28.
The first half saw Garston enjoying much of the early running, with Gary Broadbridge going close with well driven shots, one of which was cleared off the line.
However, the only goal of the game came on the half hour when a Royston looping header eluded keeper Peter Charles.
The second period saw more of the same, with Garston pressing for the equaliser. Broadbridge continued to be the main threat, going close with two headers.
Johnny Wallace worked tirelessly in midfield, and grazed the upright with a fierce shot, and then Skippy Brennan fired just wide with a left-foot drive.
