IT was no surprise to see a brass band playing at a celebration opening of instrument maker Boosey and Hawkes' new factory in Watford.
The company is famous for its quality products, and owns the national brass band competition featured in the film Brassed-Off.
Guided tours, musical interludes and a grand opening by the Mayor of Watford set off the occasion.
The move from Edgware to Croxley Business Park is the latest episode in an epic history.
Boosey can trace its roots back more than two centuries, during which time it has expanded to America and across Europe.
The opening was welcomed by local businessman Mr Frank Lambert.
His firm has won a multi-million pound contract to silver plate the Besson instruments being made on site.
