Hertsmere 1Both teams in this local derby played their first league games of the season on Sunday, and Hertsmere looked more up for the game.
Wood had first half chances but failed to take them with the Hertsmere keeper playing well.
On a soggy playing surface Wood found it hard to put their passing game together and fifteen minutes into the second half Hertsmere scored the opener. Wood battled and got a deserved equaliser through Blackburne.
With a change of formation Wood put on the pressure, and scored the winning goal with five minutes to go.Borehamwood Youth U15s 4
Northwood 3In a hard fought league game away to Northwood, Wood created
several early chances but found themselves 1-0 down after
10 minutes.
From then onwards Wood dominated the game, and with goals by Pete Clark and Kevin Yule went 2-1 up at half time.
Wood got off to a flying start in the second half, with two goals from Morgan Bryan, the second a superb individual effort.
Wood then relaxed, giving the Northwood side an opportunity to get two goals back. The final 4-3 scoreline did not reflect Wood's dominance of the game.Borehamwood Youth U15s Diamonds 0
Hemel Lions 6The U15s Diamonds had a bad day. Despite occasionally playing well on a boggy pitch, the scoreline went to Hemel Lions, 6-0.Borehamwood Youth U14s 3
Harpenden Park 2Wood started strongly, with good possession. Daniel Boyce linked well with Greg Weinrich to create good chances.
Good passing moves between Drew Grant, James Smithson and Rikesh Patel creating more chances, but no conversions.
The break came after 20 minutes, again with work by Boyce and Smithson allowing Weinrich to score.
Harpenden rallied, but good work from Shane Bond at centre half foiled them until an opportunist goal levelled the match.
Harpenden scored again, taking the half time score to 1-2.
In the second half Wood came out in a positive mood. Nick Villiers scored to equalise, and later a goal from Andrew Dixon gave Wood the lead.
Wood could have killed the game off with further chances, but failed to capitalise. The final score 3-2 to Wood.
