Project elects officersAround 50 people listened to the achievements and aims of the Borehamwood Community Development Project, at its annual meeting last week.
Representatives from funding agencies, and statutory and voluntary organisations, joined volunteers, support workers and residents at the meeting, at the Elstree Way Clinic, last Tuesday evening.
Project co-ordinator Derek Norman briefed the audience about the project, its achievements and aims. He stressed the project was an on-going process, which needed time to evolve, and partnerships were important.
Following elections, there were also appointments to the project's management committee for the year 2001 to 2002.
Fran Thompson was elected chairman, and replaces Leon De Swarte, who has moved to Whetstone.
John Nolan was elected to continue as vice-chairman, and Fiona Gibbs continues as secretary, and Colin Wise as treasurer.
Community regeneration worker, Ben Godliman, who is based at Leeming Road's Community Shop, said: "We welcome our new chairman.
"The annual meeting is a chance for us all to network with various agencies, and put forward ideas for project development in the longer term."
