VERULAM school are celebrating after seven of their senior rugby squad were called up in to the Hertfordshire County squads.

Mark Whyman, Andrew Daish and James Serrano have been called up into the under 18 squad while Paul Brame, Ross Morgan, Ciaran Flanagan and Sam Childerstone have been drafted into the under 16 squad.

Verulam School's Senior team are enjoying an excellent season so far and are sitting pretty at the top of their league after picking up seven wins from their eight matches this season.

However, the teams biggest challenge still lies ahead of them.

They hope to raise enough money from sponsorship to help finance a rugby tour of South Africa in July.

Meanwhile, the experience that the seven will gain while playing for their county is sure to benefit the rest of the school team as they hope to continue their early season form and pick up some silverware at the end of the campaign.
