IN THE Premier Division top-of-the-table clash, two first half strikes were enough to give Hammer a 2-0 win over Emeralds and send them clear at the summit.
Richard Galvin continues to show the way in front of goal, as he bagged the first with a strike that bounced cruelly in front of Emeralds keeper Phil Greenhalgh.
Fifteen minutes later, Galvin then turned provider as his initial effort rebounded off the keeper nicely into the path of the impressive Chris Shannon, who stroked home.
Defending champions St Josephs were given a scare before overcoming the plucky challenge of Watford Irish .
Irish grabbed a shock lead through Robert Morrissey, who announced his return from a broken arm in fine style.
A superb 25-yard effort from Ben Cowen and a close-range header from Emad Eljanladen gave Joes the lead, before a second for Morrissey gave the half time score an even reflection.
A second half brace from the prolific James Armstrong, including a fortuitous effort that rebounded off the post onto the head of keeper Alex Morrissey and rolled into the net, eventually sealed the points for the South Oxhey-based side, who were less than convincing.
A brace from Lee Edmunds helped Langleybury Old Boys record their first win of the season, 4-3 at home to Watford Labour Club.
Phil Tyson found the net four times as Wellington Arms brushed aside the challenge of Beaver Sports 8-2.
