St ALBANS returned home from a daunting trip to Harlequins with maximum points after a spirited fightback secured a 10-6 victory.
The visitors made all the early running and deservedly took the lead with 15 minutes on the clock when Becky Ellis went over after Nicky Jordan and Georgie Robinson showed quick hands to set up the chance.
The try seemed to spur Harlequins into action and got themselves back into the game shortly before the break with a converted penalty.
Saints regained their dominance at the start of the second half and took control of the scrums, but some poor discipline on the floor gave Harlequins another penalty and allowed them to take the lead.
However, Saints roared back with number eight, Claire Orencas and captain Cath Botterman providing impetus for the forwards to get on top and after nine phases of ball retention, Ellis drew the back-line defence before releasing Sandy Chadwick to go under the posts and clinch the points.
