STAFF at a Watford community centre are celebrating their success this week after winning an award for the standard of their performance with one of the highest scores in the country.
The Bill Everett Centre in Leggatts Way, Watford, which is run by Watford Council, entered for the Quest award for the first time and won an award for consistently high service performance with a score of 65 to 68 per cent one of the best scores ever for a first time participant in the scheme.
Quest is the national quality standard for the sport and leisure industry. To achieve a Quest award a facility has to go through a rigorous assessment procedure and meet quality criteria over a two year period
Council leader Vince Muspratt said: "We are delighted with the Bill Everett's success and that its efforts over the past year have been rewarded with such a convincing score."
"The Quest award is just one way the council is making real improvements in its performance and it demonstrates to the whole organisation what it takes to get it right for the town and our local residents."
The centre, which is partly funded by Hertfordshire County Council, showed it was performing at consistently high levels in how it operates, customer relations, staff and reviewing and development.
