Thousands of people watched fireworks and lasers at the town council's Guy Fawkes Night celebrations in Borehamwood on Monday.
Organiser Paul Welsh, Elstree and Borehamwood Town Council's entertainments officer, believes dry weather boosted the attendance to an all-time high.
As well as the thousands who visited Meadow Park to see the display, people also watched from Broughinge Road and from their homes.
The half-hour display, which began at 7.30pm, featured simultaneous fireworks and lasers, accompanied by pop and film music.
Mr Welsh said: "It went extremely well. It seemed like a record turn-out, which was helped by the good weather. For the past two years we have had rain."
He thanked Borehamwood-based Pinnacle Insurance Plc, which co-sponsored the free event.
