An out of sorts Borehamwood had a tough game against a very resilient Harvesters, who gave them a taste of what awaits them in the Red division.

Although Borehamwood tried hard, they struggled against Harvesters, who kept a solid defence, and made Wood pay with a goal in the first half.

The second half brought more pressure from Wood, and eventually they got back to one-all through a great individual effort from Matt Whichelow, who flew past three defenders before slotting the ball home.

Harvesters took the lead shortly afterwards, but Wood rallied again and Whichelow took his tally to two with a great header.

Safe hands Seal was called on and made a fantastic save, tipping the ball over the bar.

Cole, Tidd and Austin made some strong tackles to keep Harvesters out. Saunders made their lives difficult with great runs down the left side, but Matt Whichelow got the man of the match award for his tireless work all over the park and his two great finishes.

Wood: Seal, Tidd, Cole, Whichelow, Urquhart, Saunders, Brothwood. Subs: Austin, Grout.
