A team from the Rotary Club of Elstree and Borehamwood rolled their sleeves up on Sunday to add a little colour to the garden outside Elstree's Allum Hall.
Eight members of the club planted 400 bulbs outside the community centre, in Allum Lane, after choosing it as an area which could be brightened up.
Paul Clark, chairman of the club's community services committee, said the bulb planting had proved so popular in the past that it had become a regular event.
"In the past few years we have planted bulbs at a church and at a roundabout, and this year Allum Hall was a suggestion which sprung to light," he said.
The event is organised each year to coincide with Make A Difference Day, a national campaign which encourage people to get involved in community projects.
