Hertsmere FC U17s' run of six consecutive victories came to an abrupt end against mid-table Bovingdon.
Hertsmere started brightly enough and took a sixth minute lead when Martin Stevens scored with a headed goal following a corner.
But, as the game went on, Hertsmere allowed their opponents to take control of the midfield, and were fortunate to go in at the interval 1-0 in front. Two goals in as many minutes saw Bovingdon go 2-1 up in the early stages of the second half, and, with 20 minutes left, they scored a third from a penalty for 3-1. Ross Marle pulled one back for 3-2 four minutes later.
