Surprises are planned for the audience at the town's Bbc Elstree Band concert on December 3.
Musical director Mike Crisp said this week: "Although we call it a Christmas concert, the emphasis is really on easy-listening big band music.
"We try to include something to suit everyone's taste and hopefully there will be one or two surprises."
The concert, organised by Elstree and Borehamwood Town Council, will include the first European performance of a euphonium solo, called Twilight Shadows, and a version of It's So Nice To Come Home To with trombones.
There will also music from the likes of Cole Porter, Irving Berlin's Top Hat and hit numbers from the Sound of Music. Tickets, £3, are on sale at Fairway Hall, in Brook Close, Borehamwood.
