Alkesh Shah has made it through to the finals of a magazine's search to find Britain's hunkiest husband.
Mr Shah, 25, an investment analyst of New Barnet, is one of 24 finalists selected from hundreds of entrants whose partners nominated them to be voted for by readers of Best magazine. The magazine is hunting for 12 pin-ups for the national women's magazine's "Hunky Husbands and Beautiful Boyfriends" calendar 2002.
Although Mr Shah appears in the nationwide magazine, when it came to him speaking to the Hendon Times he became rather shy and preferred to keep mum.
His wife Sonal entered him into the competition and, if he wins, Alkesh gets the chance to appear in the calendar, win a luxury break for two at a top London hotel and see a top West End show with dinner.
Best magazine editor Louise Court said: "Women from all over the country are obviously taking such pride in their partner, and thankfully for us, are more than happy to share them with our readers."
