Mill Hill 27
Abbotstonians 3
Middlesex Cup
Second round
Abbotstonians, who scored 99 points in a league game the previous week, found the harsh reality of stepping up in grade to face Mill Hill much too difficult.
They were no match for the Mill Hill team, who kept them penned in their own half for most of the game.
The first score was a penalty by Mill Hill's Scott Worton, followed by an interception try, and the try of the game by veteran flanker Dan Mulley, who briefly reminded everyone of his blistering pace.
Having kept the margin down to 15 points, Abbotstonians made a brief recovery with a fine try. But Mill Hill soon regained the initiative, adding tries by Chris Wildman and Hywel Gosling and a conversion by Worton.
MILL HILL: Scard, Mellish, Cooper, Taylor, Burke, Worton, Gosling, Bourke, Cracknell, Brown, Coltrini, Luus, Mulley, Black, Wildman.
