KELLI SEAGRAVE struck the back of the net four times as St Albans Ladies earned their their first home win of the season at Clarence Park on Saturday, November 3, with a 4-1 victory over a struggling Oxford Rovers side.
Seagrave opened the scoring in the first ten minutes with an opportunist strike from the baseline that squeezed past the keeper's near post.
With Sara Harvey dictating play in midfield, Saints dominated the first half although Jo Hunt had to look lively in goal as Oxford threatened on the breakaway.
Mankelow did equalise early in the second half but Seagrave fired them ahead again in the 50th minute after converting a short corner.
Saints began to look more comfortable again with Miranda Dodd in commanding form at the back and Sarah Fretwell and Harriet Preest threatening up-front and Preest came close to adding to the lead but the keeper saved well.
However, Seagrave netted a late double to make sure of the points as a fitter St Albans side proved too much for their opponents with the win pushing them into third place in the table.
St Albans travel to top-of-table Bedford on Saturday to face a team that still have a 100 per cent record in the league this season.
