HEMEL HEMPSTEAD ROVERS took a break from topping the Premier Division on Saturday, November 9, but continued their impressive goal scoring exploits with a 10-1 demolition of Aldenham in the first round of the Apsley Senior Charity Cup.
Had the game been played at a higher standard, three players would have been fighting to keep the match ball at the end, because Darren Trustrum, Spencer Jackson and Andy McShannon all netted hat-tricks. Pat Coregan also scored.
The other first round tie was significantly closer, with Croxley Guild A edging out Rifle Volunteer 6-5 on penalties after their tie had finished 3-3. Croxley's scorers were Horwood, Harrison and Murray.
Kings Sports made light work of the challenge of L'Artista in round one of the Peace Memorial Charity Shield, easing through 7-1.
Joining them will be Met Police Bushey A, 3-1 victors over Langleybury CC, and Oxhey Wanderers, who won 4-2 at rivals Oxhey with goals from Steve Brown (2), Ross Buckley and Paul Wright.
Joe Mitchell's strike for Oxhey Jets A was not enough to stop Top of the World booking their place in round two, with a Daniel Evans brace and Tim Duffin's goal featuring in a 4-1 victory.
