Historians at the Elstree and Borehamwood Community History Project are calling for information about the Bentley family, who used to run the town's post office.
Alfred and Emma Bentley ran a post office in Theobald Street in the late 19th century, before moving to premises in Station Parade (now Station Road) at the start of the 20th century.
Alfred Bentley is recorded as being the postmaster until around 1935, but historians are anxious to find out more about his work, and what happened to him in the late 1930s.
Anyone with information about the Bentley Family is asked to telephone the Borehamwood & Elstree Times on 020 8953 3391.
