THE achievements of more than 600 students were celebrated at West Herts College's higher education awards ceremony on Saturday, November 10.
Two ceremonies at The Colosseum in Watford recognised students attaining a wide range of HNDs, degrees, professional and postgraduate diplomas.
The occasion was attended by mayor Watford Sybil Tuckwood, mayoress Sheila Rosser and Hemel Hempstead MP Tony McWater plus hundreds of proud parents.
West Herts College principal Andrew Bragg, who presented the certificates, said: "For us it is quite simply the best day of our academic year."
Maya Harwood, aged 21, who gained an HND in Early Childhood Studies, said: "It was a bit nerve-wracking at first but it was good. It was good to see everyone again."
Among those watching their sons and daughters walk out on stage were Kishor and Champa Sachania, who saw their daughter Bhavna, 21, collect a BTEC Higher National Diploma in Advertising and Marketing Communications.
Mrs Sachania said: "It was very exciting - it has been a great day."
