BUDDING actor and television presenter Simon Salter used all his powers of persuasion to urge shoppers to fling money into a large pink skip in Watford town centre on Saturday, November 10.
The 18-year-old, who is a pupil at the Sylvia Young Theatre School and a member of The Palace Theatre in Watford's Youth Group, was collecting loose change in aid of the BBC Children in Need Appeal with a posse of friends.
He said: "I saw this skip and just started thinking about alternative uses for skips. Then I came up with the this idea - we are asking people to skip their change into a skip - or a bucket if they can't reach."
Dressed in a cuddly bear costume, his pal 11-year-old Nicholas Millet added: "The costume is really nice and it is great to get people smiling."
