IT'S been a real long time coming but at last Banjo Pilot has landed on the GameBoy Advance but, it has to be said, more with the mediocrity of a 727 than a stealth fighter.
You are placed smack-bang in the middle of the Banjo Kazooie world with nine different racers to choose from and all the features from an age-old game like Super Mario Kart.
But you don't get to race karts instead (and as the title suggests) you get to choose your own miniature airplane to bomb round the course in.
You still have to pull off the obligatory power slide and fire weapons at your fellow racers after picking up the necessary power ups.
It's entertaining up to a point but anyone who is into gaming will have played something almost exactly the same as this on one of the older consoles such as the Nintendo 64.
All the usual mode types like a grand prix mode, quick race and time trial are there but it all seems a bit dated but there is a redeeming factor and that's multiplayer.
Here you can play with three friends and the game does a good job of recreating the fierce intensity of its kart-based predecessors.
It has a basic, repetitive and quite annoying soundtrack, above average graphics and some solid gameplay but in this time of top gaming it fails to live up.
