SCHOOLBOY Toby Garnett Harper has risen to a challenge laid down by his teachers at York House School to help sufferers of the tsunami disaster.
Toby, aged nine, a member of Kings Langley Swimming Club, decided he would raise money through a sponsored swim where he would also try to achieve the Amateur Swimming Association Silver Award. This required him to swim 800 metres but Toby swam double this to complete a mile so he could raise even more money for charity. In total, he raised more than £200, which his mother's employer, Pentland Brands Plc, have agreed to double.
Toby, from Kings Langley, said: "I really wanted to do well and help the people who we see on television in such distress. It was a hard thing to do, but my Granny kept on shouting at me to carry on, so I did."
