A CROXLEY GREEN man has raised £1,000 for cancer research.
Mr Steve McNally, of Dover Way, walked 15 miles in the Wirral for the Clatterbridge Cancer Research Trust last month.
The Wirral-born salesman decided to take part after his father died from pancreatic cancer in February. His mother has been diagnosed with lung cancer.
Mr McNally said: "My sister Pauline emigrated to New Zealand with her family about ten years ago.
"She came home when dad's condition worsened and arrived the day before he died.
"Mum is soldiering on and everybody that has dealt with them has been absolutely wonderful caring, considerate and comforting.
"It was my sister's idea to do the walk and raise money for Cancer Research as Clatterbridge is very close to our hearts."
Mr McNally took six hours to trek the Wirral coastline on Sunday, May 19. He said: "Next time I'll do a parachute jump at least it's all over in a few minutes."
