Mr Eric Weatherley of St George's Road, Mr John Bunyan of Sandringham Road, Mr James Bell of Holtsmere Close and Mr Howard Kramer of Elstree Road, were each awarded with the NBS crystal plate for their dedication and commitment at a ceremony in Covent Garden.

Mr Russell Guthrie from the National Blood Service said: "The dedication and thoughtfulness of these donors is wonderful to see.

"By allowing the NBS to publicise their stories they are continuing to save lives and help raise awareness about our particular issues."
