- Ron Powell produced a fine performance in the World Veterans Walking Championships at Riccione, Italy.
Ron, 65, of Rushden Gardens, Mill Hill, was eighth in 3hr 19min for the 30k (19 miles) race, and helped Britain take the bronze medal behind Italy and German.
It followed his excellent walk in winning the British veterans 20k title in 2hr 6min at Sutton Coldfield last month.
