WORKERS in the Home Counties are among the worst hit by transport stress with 16 per cent of people moving jobs just to avoid a stressful commuter journey.

Internet job site www.reed.co.uk surveyed more than 6,000 people across the UK and found almost one in seven had changed jobs in the past year.

Reed director Paul Rapacioli said: "Transport problems have got so bad in this country that people are voting with their feet.

"While the problem directly costs British business £5 billion a year, the hidden cost is even greater."
