Parents who want to check their children's car safety seats are fitted correctly can take them to Borehamwood's Tesco car park next Thursday.
Experts will be checking the seats between 10am and 4.30pm, at the Shenley Road store, as part of Child Safety Week.
According to Hertsmere Borough Council, which is organising the check with Hertsmere Primary Care Trust and the Road Safety Unit, tests have shown that 90 per cent of seats are not properly fitted, and the event is aimed at making parents aware of of the hazards if children are in the wrong seats for their size and weight. For more information call the council's health promotion officer Liz Paffley on 020 8207 2277.
