TWO outstanding individual performances sealed Watford Town's passage into the last eight of The Watford Observer MET Linden Homes Cricket Knockout Competition after they brushed aside Clarendon by 40 runs at Woodside.
Si Sampat struck a brilliant half-century to set Clarendon a testing 125 for victory, but their hopes were ruined by Kevin Affleck, who took six wickets.
Meanwhile, an inspirational performance from Duncan Hodges, the West Herts skipper, averted a potential upset at the hands of Aldenham as the Park Avenue side scraped through to the quarter-finals by 12 runs.
