ENGLAND'S draw with Nigeria on Wednesday, June 12, (Wednesday) may be great news for sport fans, but the team's qualification for the second round has left the counties' cricketers with a major headache.
The second round clash between England and Denmark kicks-off at 12.30pm on Saturday, only an hour before the Hertfordshire league cricket games are due to start.
In a bid to allow cricket players to watch England's crunch match, the Herts League commitee has decided clubs may start matches no later than 2.30pm, by prior agreement between the clubs.
Where the two teams are unable to reach agreement in advance, the start time remains at 1.30pm (or 2pm in divisions 12 and 13).
Home clubs have also been encouraged to provide a television in the pavilion to allow teams and fans to watch the match.
The later start times apply to Saracens Hertfordshire matches only and St Albans first XI and Radlett first XI start times remain unchanged.
