CALLING all cricket fans. The Shenley Cricket Centre is rolling out the red carpet as some of the world's top players head for town.

A special exhibition match between Lashings XI led by the highest ever scorer in a Test match, Brian Lara and Shenley Lions will raise funds for the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children.

Lining up for Lashings will be stars such as Richie Richardson, Sherwin Campbell and Jimmy Adams from West Indies, Martin MacCague (Kent and England) and Grant Flower (Zimbabwe) amongst others.

They will play a Lions' side representing the Shenley Cricket Centre including the likes of Angus Fraser (Middlesex and England) Aravinda de Silva (Sri Lanka), David Houghton and Trevor Gripper (Zimbabwe) and Roshan Mahanama (Sri Lanka).

There will also be a barbecue and refreshment tent for the public, and the entertainment continues during the breaks, where Shenley Cricket Centre Colts Section will play kwik cricket.
