IT is that time of year again. Tennis courts throughout the country suddenly bulge to bursting point as rackets are dusted down and Wimbledon fever takes grip of the nation. However, for St Albans born Kelly Simkin, the world's most famous tennis tournament is within reach.
Kelly takes her first steps on the long trek to SW19 on Thursday, June 13 and although she may not reach the hallowed turf this year, the experience is sure to stand her in good stead for a career which looks set to take off.
"It's the first time I will have taken part in the Wimbledon pre-qualifiers so we will just have to see how it goes," Kelly said.
"I have got nothing to lose really so I just want to go out there and attack."
