A POLICE officer is to appear in St Albans Crown Court charged with wounding with intent. Steven McKeand-Law, 26, of Oxhey, and an officer with the Metropolitan police, has been charged following an incident in Area nightclub on Tuesday, June 4, when he was off-duty. McKeand-Law appeared at Watford Magistrates Court yesterday (Thursday) where the case was referred to St Albans Crown Court for a preliminary hearing on Friday, June 21. The maximum penalty for wounding with intent is a life sentence in prison.
