THE Commonwealth baton, which arrives in St Albans on June 28, will be carried along St Peter's Street and down Holywell Hill before proceeding to Watford.
The route for the Queen's Golden Jubilee baton was announced earlier this week.
It will arrive at noon from Hatfield and the convoy is due to turn into St Peter's Street at 12.30pm and welcomed by Mayor Keith Stammers at the Town Hall and Tourist Information Centre at 12.35pm before proceeding down Holywell Hill.
The St Albans leg of the procession is part of a nationwide tour in which more than 5,000 people including celebrities, athletes and nominated jubilee runners will take part.
The baton carries a message from the Queen, calling competitors to the Commonwealth Games.
Councillor Stammers said: "St Albans is pleased to be an official host community of the Queen's Jubilee Baton Relay, and is proud to be part of this and to show the heritage and culture of our city.
"As it travels the length and breadth of the UK it showcases the rich diversity of the nation," he said.
There will also be opportunities to win tickets to the Commonwealth Games by entering a prize draw.
Details and entry forms are available from the Tourist Information Centre and information about the baton relay is available at <www.commonwealthgames.
