WORKERS in the Home Counties are among the worst hit by transport stress with 16 per cent of people moving jobs just to avoid a stressful commuter journey.

Internet job site <www.reed.co.uk> surveyed more than 6,000 people across the UK and found almost one in seven had changed jobs in the past year.

Reed director Paul Rapacioli said: "Transport problems have got so bad in this country that people are voting with their feet.

"While the problem directly costs British business £5 billion a year, the hidden cost is even greater."
