GRAFFITI artist Kerry McMahon from Nicholas Breakspear School in St Albans created a huge spray can work of art for his GCSE coursework.
Kerry has been experimenting using car paint sprays since a visit to London four years ago where he was inspired by urban art rife around the capital.
The work, based around the theme of beginnings, was mostly completed outdoors during break and lunchtimes where it attracted crowds of fans.
Painting must run in the blood of Kerry's family as his uncle, Mike McMahon, is a leading international comic strip artist and one of the heroes of Nicholas Breakspear's head of art Mr Paul Hearn.
Mr Hearn said: "I am amazed to be teaching the nephew of one of my childhood idols.
"I really hope Kerry will decide to follow in his uncle's footsteps."
Kerry's work, along with that of 33 other GCSE students, was on display on Monday night (June 17) in the art rooms of the school.
A selection will also be on display in St Albans Library, in the Maltings, from July 1 for two weeks.
