Police are advising gay men in north-west London to be extra vigilant after a 35-year-old Cricklewood man was indecently assaulted by a group of men on Hampstead Heath earlier this month.
The victim was on the heath at around 4am on Sunday June 9 with a man calling himself Brad, whom he met earlier at the Black Cap gay bar in Camden.
After Brad' left the park, the victim was approached by three or four black males who were aggressive and verbally threatening. They then indecently assaulted him.
The suspects are described as between 5ft 10ins and 6ft, wearing dark clothing. One suspect wore three sovereign rings on one hand.
Police say that because of the sensitive nature of this attack, they are unsure if it was a one-off.
Detective Constable Simon Smith, who is leading the investigation, said: "We would urge members of the gay community to be careful where they go and with whom.
"We are very keen to trace Brad', who is not a suspect but may hold vital information in assisting us to identify the attackers."
