People interested in local history and archeology can hear about the work of Elstree and Borehamwood History Society and the Hertfordshire Archeology Trust, at the history society's annual general meeting next Thursday, June 27.
At the meeting, at Hertsmere Borough Council's Civic Offices in Borehamwood's Elstree Way, visitors can find out about the work of the society and Drayton Road-based Elstree and Borehamwood Museum over the past year.
The borough council's museums' officer Julie Massey said: "It has been a very interesting year for the museum, and one which has seen the museum activities grow enormously, from archiving the collection to developing school resources and producing new and better displays."
Ms Massey also invited anyone interested in being a museum volunteer to discuss this on the evening, when visitors can also talk to other people interested in local history and find out about events and exhibitions.
After the meeting, which starts at 7.30pm, Lee Prosser of the Hertfordshire Archeology Trust will talk about archeological sites in Hertsmere.
