An Elstree-based firm has been honoured with the title of Gas Company of the Year in recognition of its engineering and management services.
McNicholas Construction Services received the award at a ceremony sponsored by the Institution of Gas Engineers and Managers (IGEM) and the Society of British Gas Industries (SBGI).
The company, of Lismirrane Industrial Park, in Elstree Road, specialises in constructing and servicing gas, electricity, water and cable networks, as well carrying out industrial building projects.
It was nominated for the award because of the standard of its engineering, its supply chain management and its development of gas industry personnel.
Managing director Barry McNicholas said: "The Gas Company of the Year award is a key achievement for our company in its 50-year history."
McNicholas installs and services urban and rural pipelines and has developed drilling techniques which enable it to lay pipes without needing to dig trenches.
