A RECORD-BREAKING entry of more than 2,500 runners made this years Review Half-Marathon, which took place at Westminster Lodge on Sunday, the best yet as more than 1,500 competitors completed the 13.1-mile half-marathon course, with many more joining in the various fun-runs on offer as well.
Stevenage's William Levett ran out race winner in a time of 1.12.19 with St Albans Strider Mark Hamer just over two minutes behind in second place.
Striders completed a silver and bronze double after Andy Holt who took silver in the same event four years ago finished third, although he almost never took part in the race at all.
Watford Harrier Danielle Sanderson continued her preparations for the European 100km Championships with victory in the women's race, clocking 1.21.44 in a race that is special to the Bushey athlete. "The Review Half Marathon was my very first race 13 years ago, so it's great to be back again," said Sanderson.
