ONLY 16 people attended a public meeting held to discuss what might be built on the site of The Watford Observer in Rickmansworth Road, Watford.
Developer Linden Homes has bought the 2.9 acre site and applied to Watford Council to turn it into a residential development comprising family houses, small flats and a bungalow.
A quarter of the dwellings would be "affordable" housing.
Tuesday evening's meeting was organised by Consensus Planning, a company which sets up public meetings so residents can learn more about a development in their area and air their concerns.
At the meeting, held at Watford Grammar School for Boys in Rickmansworth Road, project consultants almost outnumbered residents.
However, of the residents that did attend, most were concerned about the parking and traffic issues that a development of more than 80 homes would bring to the already congested Rickmansworth Road.
