A LIBRARIAN from St Albans has been chosen to spearhead a high profile senior position at one of the world's most famous libraries.
Ms Julia Stocken, has been appointed head of science, technology and innovation at the British Library in London. She will be responsible for the development of research, reference and information services to businesses and entrepreneurs across science, technology and business information companies.
Announcing the appointment Ms Natalie Casey, director of operations and services at the British Library said: "The library is delighted to welcome Julia on Board and the wealth of expertise she will bring with her to the post."
Ms Stocken, a qualified librarian, took up the position after six years at the global executive search firm Egon Zehnder International where she was head of research.
Speaking of her appointment, Ms Stocken said: "I am excited by the challenge and look forward to developing services to supply research and development focused companies with access to information they need in order to be successful."
