THE precocious talent from Bushey Boxing Club continues to grow from strength to strength after two of its promising fighters gained national recognition this week.
Bushey Meads School pupil Liam Shinkwin, the jewel in the crown of the club run by Danny Shinkwin, has been selected to represent England at 60 kilograms in the Junior International tournament in Michigan, from June 27 to July 8.
The 16-year-old, who was crowned National Junior ABA champion last month, has clearly impressed the selectors during training camps at Durham and Crystal Palace and has been rewarded with his first international appearance in the sport.
Liam's cousin Kieran, 15, from Bushey Hall School, has also reason to cheer after he was called up to the Young England squad.
Kieran will attend weekly training sessions at the National headquarters at Crystal Palace after reaching the final of the Schoolboy's Championships earlier in the year.
