THE Liberal Democrats retained one of their ward seats in Oxhey following a by-election on Thursday, June 20.
The new Liberal Democrat councillor to join the Oxhey Lib Dem team will be Shirena Counter after she secured 1, 024 votes.
The seat became available as elected mayor Dorothy Thornhill had to give up her seat in order to fulfill her role.
Tory candidate Alan Luto won 245 votes, Labour's Manny Akube won 105 votes and Faye Cullen acquired 40 votes for the Green Party.
